About

A mechanical engineer originally from Cape Town, Nic has enjoyed a varied motorsport career spanning 20+ years and on 3 continents.

Nic is a welding specialist and finds that these days sculpture work is a natural fit. He uses either bronze, stainless steel or aluminium and applies various methods of fabrication and metal forming to create these unique pieces. From 9ft Sailfish to bookend Marlin heads, he has done them all for clients ranging from far North Queensland in Australia to downtown Houston in USA, South Africa, Dubai, Kenya, Germany, UK and even Russia. More recently, he produced a marlin head bursting through water and mounted on driftwood for a client in the Netherlands.

Nic is a fly fisherman and has been fortunate enough to fish Guatemala, Belize, The Arabian Gulf and Oman, Kenya, Mozambique, Australia, Vanuatu and Christmas Island (Pacific). He has caught many species on the fly but his best achievement would have to be the billfish.

Nic’s work has been featured in Bluewater magazine in Australia and has also been selected for the Marlin Magazine Art Gallery edition for a few years in a row.
